Carys Davies porcelain stacking plates at 'Found'

These delicate porcelain stacking plates by Carys Davies really caught my eye at Found. Carys writes part of a poem onto each plate, using works such as the RS Thomas poem "The Bright Field" with the idea being that the poem gets re-written when the plates are re-stacked. As each piece is made by hand, they are all slightly different in shape and colour making each piece individual yet part of a whole. I love the idea of different people having different plates, and different parts of the poem.

Carys works with celebrated potter and ceramic artist Edmund de Waal at his studio in Tulse Hill. If  you are interested in seeing more of her work you can contact her through her website.
